and the caption reads: "Decked out in spring's trendy high-waisted pants, Jessica Simpson continues her club tour of West Hollywood by hitting popular celeb hangout Winston's on Tuesday. The singer, who according to a patron looked "happy and laid-back," bobbed her head to the music and giggled throughout the evening with pals before departing at 2:30 a.m. " Sooooooo.... apparently MOM PANTS are spring's hottest trend. Ummm, yeah.... I think that I'll pass on this one. thanks anyhow. | | |

| okay, I have more time to write now... not a lot, but more :) My parents have come... and gone. We had an absolute FABULOUS time too! Although I WOULD like to know when exactly my parents became cool... these could not have been the same parents I had in high school. We sat outside and got suntans, drank lots of wine, cooked lots of food, my mom and I got pedicures, and did plenty of sightseeing and shopping. They left bright and early Thursday morning and I spent the rest of the day sobbing my guts out because I miss them so much.... in fact, I cried so hard I threw up my breakfast... what the heck? I assumed that I was way past the point where you realize your parents are PEOPLE... but now I'm at the point where I actually WANT to hang out with them and because of the 700+ miles between us, I can't. Boo. Keep it together Lisa, you'll be back in the summer. sheesh. (p.s. love you mom!) Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were killed in the line of duty last weekend too... which was unbelievably tragic and awful. I never met either of the two men, but I felt it was important to go to the funerals that were held the last two days. While it was incredible to see some 3,000 or so officers come out in support, why do things like this have to happen in the first place? Questions that will never have answers. What's also personally upsetting is that the shooting happened in an apartment complex where I visit some of my student's parents. ek. But anyhow, I've spent the last three days in tears for the most part. I just hope that the families of the two officers find their way through this somehow. It's just unbelievable. Jay went to the Master's yesterday. *yawn* I'll never understand the thrill of hitting a ball into a hole, but whatever. I went with Nicole, Justin, Aaron, Erica, and Paul to the Bobcats game and then out for food instead - I would rather watch paint dry then do anything golf related... ugh. The team lost but it was still super fun. I'm amazed at how easy it is to make friends down here, and what's more, none of the friends that we have are people we've met at church. I wonder what THAT means. hmmm. anyhow, gotta run and check out Abby's haircut. peace out A-town. | | |
